Growing up in Sutherland, Sarah started learning fiddle and piano in Primary school and developed a keen interest in Music from a young age. A Music graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Sarah has gigged across the UK and Europe with a number of different bands, playing in venues ranging from tiny village halls to major festivals. Sarah has a wide range of musical interests and whilst a student, she was awarded the Clutterbuck Scholarship which allowed her to travel to Cape Breton to learn more about the Fiddle traditions of the area.
Sarah now teaches Music in a secondary school. She is committed to Ceilidhing in all weathers – having for many years played in the house band for the Dornoch Hogmanay Street Party – performing on the back of an artic lorry in subzero temperatures, with regular horizontal blizzards to contend with!
